Hickenlooper Announces Endorsement from Top Climate Action Group

Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Action Fund backs environmental champions who fight climate change, protect nature and our communities

Hickenlooper saved the largest investment to combat climate change ever, helped stop Trump’s sale of our public lands

COLORADO – Today, U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper welcomed Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Action Fund’s endorsement of his 2026 Senate reelection campaign.

NRDC Action Fund adds to Hickenlooper’s definitive backing from leading progressive advocates, with endorsements from Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Brady PAC, GIFFORDS PAC, End Citizens United and Let America Vote, League of Conservation Voters Action Fund and Conservation Colorado, and 314 Action.

“Our forests are burning, our rivers are running dry, and energy prices continue to skyrocket. Yet, this President and Republicans in Congress  relentlessly attack science. They’re rolling back our policies that fight pollution, protect our public land, and invest in cleaner, more affordable energy,” said Hickenlooper. “We united millions of Americans to defeat their efforts to carve up our public land to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. With NRDC Action Fund’s help, we’re ready to mobilize millions of voters, take back Congress, and stop these devastating attacks.”

“Donald Trump and his corrupt administration are padding the pockets of CEOs while they plunder our environment and increase energy prices on working families. We need fighters like John Hickenlooper now more than ever. He has worked tirelessly in the Senate to address climate change, reduce pollution, and protect our environment,” said Jed Ober, Managing Director of the NRDC Action Fund. “We need to reelect John Hickenlooper to the U.S. Senate because he is fighting attacks on our public lands, rollbacks of clean air and water safeguards, and attacks on science itself.”

Hickenlooper has long pushed for real, science-based climate policy. He played a key role in passing the Inflation Reduction Act, which was the largest climate investment ever, and is fighting against Washington Republicans’ attempts to undermine the law. He helped create a public campaign to successfully defeat Senate Republicans’ plan to sell off public land to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and is working to prevent any future efforts. As Colorado governor, he created the world’s first methane rules, which were later used as a national model by the Obama administration.

NRDC Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit environmental organization affiliated with the Natural Resources Defense Council, works to mobilize voters and support candidates who fight climate change.
