Today, scientist and former candidate for U.S. Senate Trish Zornio announced her support for John Hickenlooper’s campaign. Zornio has been a longtime advocate for expanding evidence-based policy making in Washington to tackle the greatest challenges of our time including climate change, health care, and more.
“John is, without a doubt, the best candidate to go up against a Republican incumbent Senator when Democrats need to build back the majority,” said Trish Zornio. “John knows how to bring people together. I admire him for his ability to build diverse coalitions of voices and expertise to win statewide in Colorado twice. Now, more than ever, we need science in the Senate and I know John will listen to scientists to confront the issues of our time such as climate change and health care.”
“Colorado is lucky to have Trish Zornio’s leadership and crucial voice for science in our politics and I am proud to earn her support,” said John Hickenlooper. “Trish is passionate about identifying the injustices that hurt Coloradans and designing evidence-based policy to tackle issues like health care and climate change. She is truly inspiring and I look forward to working with her in the future to deliver for our state.”
Trish Zornio’s endorsement joins an ever-expanding list of local, state and national leaders and organizations supporting John’s campaign for Senate because they know he’s the best candidate to defeat Senator Gardner and make Washington work for Colorado. Recent endorsements include: Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, State Representative James Coleman, the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Greater Metro Denver Ministerial Alliance, End Citizens United, NARAL Pro-Choice America, Stacey Abrams, and U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.
