Today, John Hickenlooper, candidate for U.S. Senate from Colorado, released a statement on Senator Cory Gardner’s vote to let even more funds be diverted from military projects, including Colorado’s own Peterson Air Force Base, to build President Trump’s wall:
“President Trump repeatedly promised that Mexico would pay for the wall, but thanks to Senator Cory Gardner’s vote, Peterson Air Force Base and now potentially even more of Colorado’s projects and military communities will be stuck with the bill.“
“The Pentagon has warned of ‘dire’ consequences from the cancellation of military projects to fund the wall, and the Trump Administration has made clear that they intend to divert even more funding from projects important to our national security to pay for it. But Gardner has put his blind allegiance to President Trump ahead of the interests of our state and our national security–again. Colorado deserves better.”
