Campaign shatters its own fundraising record and will report $7.2 million cash on hand in the final four weeks of campaign
Today, Hickenlooper for Colorado announced that the campaign raised $22.6 million in the third quarter of 2020, shattering the campaign’s own record of $5.2 million set in the second quarter of this year. The campaign will also report $7.2 million cash on hand as of September 30th.
Hick-a-Palooza, the campaign’s virtual concert for grassroots donors and volunteers that featured Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Matthews, and Nathaniel Rateliff raised just under $219,000. The average grassroots contribution to the campaign during this period was $15, and 97% of the donations were under $200. Among the campaign’s donors this quarter are 15,000 teachers, 5,000 scientists, one cat model, 12 dishwashers, and 21 3D artists.
“I am incredibly grateful for every single one of our grassroots donors and volunteers who have joined our campaign during these difficult times,” said Hickenlooper. “Coloradans from every corner of our state are fired up and ready to flip this seat because they are fed up with Cory Gardner’s lockstep support of Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell. With the generous backing of this grassroots army we’re going to bring change to a broken Washington and get to work getting our country out of this crisis.”
