Hickenlooper Blasts Trump-Gardner Clean Air Rollback

Yesterday, after new reports the Trump Administration would be rolling back crucial methane regulations modeled off of Colorado’s “gold standard”, John Hickenlooper called out the Administration’s repeated attacks on the environment to cater to special interest donors and Senator Cory Gardner’s complicity. Senator Gardner has repeatedly enabled and stood by as Trump rolls back critical clean air and water protections, including voting against similar limits on methane pollution.

In Colorado, John successfully implemented the “gold standard” for methane regulations that later went on to be the national model in the United States and Canada. He also committed the state to dramatically cutting greenhouse gas emissions and shifting to clean energy sources, oversaw the retirement of two coal-fired power plants — moving them towards renewable energy and battery storage — and helped create thousands of good-paying renewable energy jobs.

In the U.S. Senate, John will work to transition to a 100% clean energy economy with net-zero emissions. Read his plan to fight climate change HERE.
