As Coloradans Call for COVID Relief, New Ad Contrasts Gardner’s Vacation with Hickenlooper’s Leadership Through Crisis

“Hickenlooper knows now is the time for action, not vacation”

As Coloradans demand Senator Cory Gardner act on urgently-needed COVID relief, a new ad, “Vacation,” contrasts his going on recess instead of taking action with Governor John Hickenlooper’s strong record of leading Colorado out of economic crisis.

While millions of families struggle to pay their bills, make their rent or mortgages, and put food on the table without the support they need, Senator Gardner and his Republican colleagues left DC and took a month-long vacation without having addressed additional support for small business, renewing emergency unemployment insurance, or even expanding access to COVID testing. Meanwhile, Senator Gardner has stayed silent about President Trump’s bungling of the United States’ Coronavirus response.

By contrast, John Hickenlooper led Colorado out of the Great Recession and helped the state grow from the 40th in job creation to the top economy in the nation.

Watch “Vacation” online HERE or see its transcript below:

Cory Gardner’s on vacation for a month.

No relief passed for the unemployed. No expansion of COVID testing. No more help for struggling ranchers and small businesses.

No, Cory Gardner is on vacation. Still silent about Donald Trump’s failures on COVID.

When John Hickenlooper faced an economic crisis, he made Colorado the number one economy in the country.

Hickenlooper knows now is the time for action, not vacation.

[I’m John Hickenlooper, and I approve this message.]

A real leader for a change.
