Today Hickenlooper for Colorado released a new TV ad, “Says/Does,” highlighting Senator Cory Gardner’s bald-faced attempts to tell Coloradans he cares about the environment while stonewalling efforts to combat climate change and gutting protections for clean air and water.
The ad follows Gardner’s election-year attempts to deceive voters about his toxic environmental record, including using a sham environmentalist group no actual environmental advocates had heard of in a campaign ad. Gardner has a lifetime environmental voting record of just 11% from the League of Conservation Voters, which named him to their “Dirty Dozen” list of the most anti-environmental candidates.
Transcript:
HICKENLOOPER: I’m John Hickenlooper and I approve this message.
NARRATOR: Don’t be fooled by what Cory Gardner says about the environment.
What Cory Gardner does got him named one of the Dirty Dozen — one of the very worst pollution records in Congress.
His votes put a coal lobbyist in charge of the EPA. Gutted protections for our air and water.
He stonewalled major efforts to combat climate change.
And right now Cory Gardner is blocking a bipartisan effort to protect public lands, like the Thompson Divide, from drilling.
Don’t get conned by Cory.
