Today, former Chaffee County Commissioner Jerry Mallett and Mountain Village Mayor Pro Tem Dan Caton became the 19th and 20th endorsers to flip their support from Andrew Romanoff to John Hickenlooper days before the Democratic primary. Leaders are rallying behind John because of his strong record of protecting Colorado’s public lands, expanding access to health care, and fighting for Coloradans across the state.
“The choice this year couldn’t be more clear — while Senator Cory Gardner has sold out Colorado’s public lands for Trump’s oil and gas cronies, John Hickenlooper has fought to protect and expand our public lands,” said former Chaffee County Commissioner Jerry Mallett. “Coloradans will be able to count on John to be a champion for Colorado’s public lands in the United States Senate, and further solidify Colorado as an outdoor attraction for the world. John’s leadership is exactly what we need in Washington.”
“Flipping this Senate seat is not going to be easy — we are going to have to come together if we want to see Cory Gardner be a one-term Senator,” said Hickenlooper. “I’m honored to have earned these endorsements and I promise to be a voice for all Coloradans in the United States Senate. Together we’ll bring change to a broken Washington.”
