Former Mayor of Denver Wellington Webb Endorses John Hickenlooper - John Hickenlooper for U.S. Senate

Former Mayor of Denver Wellington Webb Endorses John Hickenlooper

Today, Wellington Webb, the first African American Mayor of Denver, endorsed John Hickenlooper’s campaign for United States Senate.

“I am proud today to announce my endorsement of John Hickenlooper for U.S. Senate,” said Mayor Webb. “John has been a friend and a true fighter for the people of Colorado, first as Denver Mayor then as Governor of Colorado. Each and every day, we see the dysfunction and chaos coming from Washington DC, and each and every day hardworking Coloradans suffer while Senator Gardner rubber stamps President Trump’s wrongheaded and dangerous policies. I know John Hickenlooper is the right candidate to defeat Senator Gardner, fix Washington, and get results for Coloradans.”

“I am humbled to receive the support of my good friend Mayor Webb,” said Hickenlooper. “When I first started as mayor, he guided me and gave me the tools I needed to succeed and unite Denver. Changing a broken Washington is going to be a challenging undertaking, and I’m glad to know I have Mayor Webb in my corner to help.”

Mayor Webb joins a growing list of supporters of John’s campaign. Other endorsers include former U.S. Senate candidates Trish Zornio, John Walsh and Dan Baer, as well as Senator Michael Bennet, former Secretary Ken Salazar, Congressman Ed Perlmutter, State Senators Senate President Leroy Garcia, Jeff Bridges, Jessie Danielson, Kerry Donovan, Rhonda Fields, Brittany Pettersen, State Representatives Bri Buentello, James Coleman, Julie McCluskie, Dylan Roberts, Tom Sullivan, Former Congressman John Salazar, Former State Representative Wilma Webb, and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.

John has also earned endorsements from Greater Denver Ministerial Alliance, the Colorado Professional Firefighters, Denver Pipefitters Local 208, Denver Firefighters Local 858, the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, NARAL, End Citizens United, the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare, Everytown, and Giffords PAC.
