“We must accelerate our efforts to enable small businesses to keep workers on payroll”
This week, John Hickenlooper continued campaigning virtually as Coloradans do our part by staying at home. Informed by his background as a small business owner, John released his priorities for small businesses to recover from the coronavirus. He also sat down with education leaders to discuss mental health and remote learning and continued his 64 County Tour, virtually meeting with voters in Montrose, Delta, Chaffee, Gunnison, and Fremont Counties.

64 County Tour — Socially-Distanced Edition
Our campaign continued our outreach to Coloradans in every corner of the state, this week holding virtual meet and greets with voters in Montrose, Delta, Chaffee, Gunnison, and Fremont Counties.
The Montrose Daily Press wrote:
When John Hickenlooper, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, finished his Zoom call with Montrose and Delta county residents on Wednesday evening, he acknowledged the uniqueness of the situation.
“I want you to know that this drives me nuts, I’m an extrovert, I love getting out in front of people and I guarantee you as soon as we are allowed to we will come back out to Montrose and to Delta and to Mesa County, we’ll get out there as soon as we can.”
Unable to campaign in person due to physical distancing and shutdown guidelines due to COVID-19, the former Colorado governor is taking a new approach to his campaign, using Zoom, a video conferencing platform, to engage with voters in 64 counties in Colorado.
John also joined Indivisible Colorado Centennial and Embassy House during their meetings to talk about his campaign to bring change to Washington.
Spotlight on Education and Mental Health
John hosted a roundtable with education leaders and mental health professionals to discuss remote learning and ensuring students have access to all the resources they need during the coronavirus crisis.
“While students are in remote learning and away from their normal support system, we need to make sure they have all the resources they need to be successful. We must provide mental health services as a resource for everybody. Having a mental health service in a school in Western Colorado would add value to the school and it would attract folks to come to the Valley.”
