Hickenlooper in Washington Post: Vote By Mail Protects Public Health, Democracy

Colorado’s “experience with voting from home has laid the groundwork for just this moment, when mail-in voting in a national election could be vital to protecting Americans’ health — and the health of our democracy.”

In an op-ed published in the Washington Post, John Hickenlooper makes the case for nationwide vote by mail. As Governor, he implemented vote at home reforms here in Colorado. In light of the public health risks posed by in-person voting during COVID-19 and the chaos seen in Wisconsin earlier this week, Hickenlooper argues that the nation should follow Colorado’s lead and allow every voter to cast their ballot from the safety of their home.
