Colorado Democratic Party Celebrates Hickenlooper’s Unprecedented Fundraising Effort to Boost Colorado Organizing

Hickenlooper raised $100,000 in contributions that will help CDP double down on grassroots organizing

The Colorado Democratic Party announced an unprecedented, early investment of $100,000 – raised by U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper – ahead of the 2025 and 2026 elections. The investment will significantly boost CDP’s grassroots organizing infrastructure to help push back on the Trump administration, hold Republicans accountable for rubber-stamping Trump’s budget plan, and elect Democrats at every level across Colorado.

“Senator John Hickenlooper made an unprecedented early investment in the Colorado Democratic Party because he feels the same urgency we feel and knows we need to bolster our grassroots organizing infrastructure for our fight against the Trump Administration’s attack on working people,” CDP Chair Shad Murib said.

“Coloradans are fed up with the President and his extreme MAGA agenda that’s raising prices and tearing health care away from families,” said Senator Hickenlooper. “We’re excited to work closely with the Colorado Democratic Party to build Colorado’s strongest grassroots organizing effort ever. There’s no time to waste. We need to take the fight to Trump and Washington Republicans, hold them accountable for their reckless tariffs and disastrous budget bill, and win elections across Colorado.”

The investment follows CDP’s major “Big Bill Fallout” tour, which included 15 town halls and mobilization events across the state to make sure Coloradans know exactly who is responsible for the state’s $1.2 billion budget shortfall and increased costs on all of us: Colorado’s Republican Congressional Delegation. The tour stopped in communities across the state to connect the dots between Washington Republicans’ votes to gut $1 trillion in Medicaid funding and the real-world consequences for Colorado families, from rural hospitals and agricultural programs to food assistance, school funding, and public safety.

The Colorado Democratic Party launched A Stronger Colorado earlier this year, a year-round organizing campaign that has recruited over 600 new precinct organizers, and a redesign of the Party platform to speak directly to the issues facing Coloradans. This campaign has engaged hundreds of thousands of voters far in advance of the 2026 midterm election.
